...EFE Endüstri ve Ticaret A.Ş. was founded in 1974 as EFE Tarım A.Ş. Since 1974, Efe maintains its production activities in its factory, which is located on total area of 55,000 m2 (17,500 m2 of whic is covered), in Kemalpaşa in Izmir as a member of Mert Group.

Besides Izmir Center Office, there are Region Bureaus in major cities of Turkey: Ankara, Istanbul, Adana, and there is authorized dealer in Gaziantep. Besides various Superstructure Equipments, there are Semitrailers and other specific purpose equipments.

We can seperate our products range in two general groups as Municipal and Construction Equipments.

In the Municipal Equipments group there are Hydraulic Refuse Collectors as our main product and we have capacity to produce 600 per year. We give importance to high quality. We use HARDOX 400 steel in option and ST 5080 in standard especially to the erosive surfaces. Thus we increase the using life of our equipment.

In the Concrete & Constuction Equipments group, EFE is producing truck mixers and concrete plants as an official licencer of Liebherr since 1987. The truck mixers and concrete plants which have been produced since 1987, are produced according to the standards in Germany. Besides, we are the representative of Sauer in Turkey. EFE has licenced to produce Liebherr products locally. We are using the same parts which are used originally in Germany; and we produce the parts - which are available to produce in Turkey - according to the original with the same quality. Because of this, there is no difference in quality of the products between our equipments and German products. Liebherr confirms this with EFE-Liebherr logo.
Other products in this group are rear tippers, low-bed semi-trailers, tipper semi-trailers, water tanks, water tank semi-trailers and cement carriers.

Military equipments like battle tank low-bed semi-trailers are naturally in our product range. At same time we support other demands of the military.

In 2002 year, EFE realizes investments for renewing and increasing capacity like modernizing shotblasting and painting facilities and buying new steel forming machines. In 2002 EFE and Mercedes have won auction of Defense Ministry for 78 lowbed semi-trailers. We will deliver 21 of them in this year and all of them in 3 years. In addition to this, again with Mercedes, EFE has won the auction of DSI (Government Water Works) for 30 lowbed semi-trailer and we will deliver all of them in this year.

In concrete plants and truckmixers, Liebherr has the biggest proportion. The other pneuamatic controls, pneumatic cylinders, etc. are entirely Mert products. Mert has import products beside of the local products. We offer our local products as they have the same quality with the original ones. The hydralic parts on the EFE equipments: EFE manufactures his own hydraulic cylinders for refuse collectors. For some of specific equipments we manufacture the hydraulic cylinders in MAG. For example, MAG manufactures recently hydraulic cylinders for a specific skip loader. EFE directly imports directional valves and hydraulic pumps for its equipments.

80% of our products are produced according to make-to-order. But some of our standard products, like Hydraulic Refuse Collectors are produced as components in stock and are assembled to the order.

With getting the ISO 9002 Quality Certificate from TUV we prove our production quality.

In the short term, we don't have definite plan to realize, but surely we do projects for presenting new equipments to Turkish markets. For example recently we want to develop a container washing equipment which is clean the containers after it is emptied by refuse collector. But we couldn't find a chance to realize this project as the municipalities find this project expensive. We give importance to develop our recent products and to service in high quality. We aim to develop our foreign relationships with at least 50% export."
